This page has information about the family of Daniel Hurley, my wife's GGG grandfather, who may have been part of the Cork (or Teetotal) Settlement in New Brunswick in the 1840s. Here's what I know about this Hurley family:
I learned about the Cork Settlement (including the fact that there was a Daniel Hurley there during the time period when my Daniel Hurley was known to have lived in New Brunswick) from Colleen Kennedy's Cork Settlement site. I looked at the parish records for the local Catholic church for help in determining whether it was the same Daniel Hurley (since I knew the names and approximate birth dates of Daniel's four children who were born in New Brunswick and I knew that Daniel's wife was named Catherine). I found the Daniel Hurley family that I was looking for, but I also found another Hurley who was either Daniel or Donald.
I abstracted the following Catholic church records from FHL films 0861211 & 0861212 (Register for Marriages, Baptisms and Interments at The Church of St. Dunstan, Fredericton, New Brunswick, 1827-1842 & 1842-1870). These are all the baptisms, marriages, and buriels that I saw for people with the surname HURLEY (or HURLY) from January 1837 through December 1850. I think I got all of the baptisms and marriages for people named HURLEY, but I'm pretty sure I missed some baptisms where the mother's maiden name was HURLEY because I was mostly looking at the page margins, which did not include the mother's maiden name for baptisms.

The rows with yellow background are for my wife's Daniel Hurley family. The rows with gray background are for a family headed by either "Daniel" or "Donald" Hurley. The Daniel Hurley who was part of the Cork Settlement was probably one of these two men. The bolded names are non-Hurley names (either full name or surname only) listed on Colleen Kennedy's settler pages.
Please let me know if you have information about the Hurleys or would like additional specific information about anything on this page.
